Festival tad-Dawl

A cherished religious tradition honouring the patron saint, this procession features young girls dressed in white and adorned with red sashes, carrying candles as they make their way through the village streets. The highlight of the event is the participant representing Saint Lucy, who wears the traditional crown of candles, symbolising the saint’s faith, courage, and devotion. Accompanied by hymns and a spirit of reverence, the procession offers a unique cultural and spiritual experience for attendees of all ages. Following the procession, traditional Saint Lucy buns will be served, providing an opportunity for the community to gather together and celebrate this beloved feast-day custom in a warm and festive atmosphere.
