Gozo International Puppet Festival

The Gozo International Puppet Festival reaches its grand finale with a day dedicated to spectacular performances, family entertainment, and immersive cultural experiences in the heart of Għarb. From 10:30 until 17:00, Għarb Church Square will come alive with the Giant Puppet Parade & Shows, featuring impressive giant puppets, captivating performances, and interactive encounters that celebrate the creativity and craftsmanship of international puppetry. As these larger-than-life characters make their way through the square, visitors of all ages will have the opportunity to witness a unique blend of art, movement, and storytelling in a vibrant outdoor setting. Throughout the day, visitors can also participate in the Learning Puppet Animation of Semi-Giant Puppets Workshops, taking place at various times. These engaging sessions provide a hands-on introduction to the techniques used to animate and operate large puppets, allowing participants to gain a deeper appreciation of the skill, coordination, and creativity behind every performance. Suitable for both children and adults, the workshops offer an interactive way to become part of the festival experience. Bringing together artists, performers, families, and visitors from across Gozo and beyond, Sunday’s programme promises a memorable celebration of imagination and community spirit.
