Jum Għawdex

An occasion of solemn remembrance and celebration in honour of the Island’s enduring heritage and distinguished sons and daughters. The commemorative programme begins with a Pontifical High Mass at the Gozo Cathedral, followed by wreath-laying ceremony in front of the Archpriest Saver Cassar memorial at Independence Square, in respectful tribute to one of Gozo’s most eminent historical figures. The celebration will culminate with the Ġieħ Għawdex Awards ceremony also at Independence Square, where the President of the Republic will present the prestigious distinction upon those whose exceptional service and notable contribution have left a lasting mark upon Gozo and its community.
